It means that the venue either does not assign seating or does not have seating.

Well my best guess would be that the venue is “open” to basically sit/stand wherever you want.I had the same experience when I went to a concert in one of those open like standing rooms where they gave no seats and the ticket taker people kept referring to it as open seating. I may be wrong but I really think that’s what it means.

maybe it means that there r still some seats left. i think section means the auditorium is devided into a number of sections, and row would mean which row in each section. i think it being open means that there are still seats left if u wanted to choose a certian section or row.
